CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Learning and Development (L&D) Africa is Calling for Abstracts for oral presentations for the Annual L&D Africa Conference 2022 in Accra on 6 &7 October 2022. The Conference will be a hybrid conference (in-person and virtual). The theme for this year’s conference is: “Leaving No One Behind in Learning and Development -The Practicalities”.

The Conference will explore how L&D professionals and organizations can invest in learning and development while ensuring that no individual is left behind in organizations.

This year’s conference aims to:

  • Identify strategies to make technology accessible to the wider population that is being left behind .
  • Discuss the benefits of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in L&D.
  • Discuss the benefits of Microlearning.
  • Identify challenges that hinder learning and development in an organization.

Interested applicants should register and submit their abstracts before 9th September 2022.

You are invited to submit abstracts covering any of the following conference topics:

  1. Rethinking or restrategizing for L&D in light of the global trends:
    • The Great Talent Exodus: How can it be prevented in an organization?
  2. Using technology for wider accessibility and promoting diversity and inclusion:
    • Microlearning: The role of using mobile apps, animation learning,
      gamification, etc as an effective approach to L&D
      .
    • Inclusive mobile technologies for L&D in rural organizations.
    • L&D as a tool to build and support a Neurodiverse (ADHD, Depression,
      Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Tourette’s syndrome, Autism, Mental
      Unwellness and Dyspraxia) workforce.
    • Gender Lens Perspective: What are employers doing Post Covid?
  3. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Empowering employees with disabilities.
  4. L&D and Organizational Learning: What is next?
    • Employee Upskilling and Reskilling.
    • Designing an inclusive and effective learning journey.
  5. Managing Generational Diversity in the workplace.

Paper Submission Guidelines and Time Frames

  • Papers addressing the theme of the conference will be considered.
  • The abstracts should be a maximum of 400 words.
  • Author’s Name, Affiliation, Email Address, Phone Number.
  • Abbreviations should be defined the first time they appear in your text before being used as an abbreviation only.
  • Please, do not define or use abbreviations in the title.
  • CV or short biography
